How to issue multiple Gift Cards in bulk

Modified on Thu, 29 Jun 2023 at 12:17 AM

Our app provides a convenient feature for store owners to efficiently issue gift cards in bulk. By utilizing a CSV (Comma-Separated Values) file, you can seamlessly upload and manage multiple gift card details all at once. This guide will walk you through the description of each column and explain how to input data properly in the CSV file to ensure smooth gift card issuance.

CSV file structure

There are 8 main columns in the CSV file as the following:

1. Sender Name: This column represents the name of the person sending the gift card. Enter the sender's name for each respective gift card in this column.

2. Recipient Name: In this column, input the name of the recipient who will receive the gift card. Make sure to accurately enter the recipient's name for each gift card.

3. Recipient Email: This column requires the email address of the gift card recipient. Ensure that the email addresses are correctly entered to ensure timely delivery.

4. Gift Card Value (Number Only): In this column, specify the value of the gift card in numerical format only. For example, if the gift card value is $50, enter "50" in this column.

5. Delivery Date (Leave Empty for Send Now): If you wish to schedule the delivery of the gift cards for a future date, enter the desired delivery date in this column (with the format yyyy-mm-dd). Leave the cell empty for immediate delivery.

6, Expire Date (Leave Empty for Never Expire): If you want the gift cards to expire after a specific period, input the expiration date in this column (with the format yyyy-mm-dd). For gift cards with no expiration, leave the cell empty.

7. Greeting: This column allows you to personalize the greeting that accompanies the gift card. Enter a thoughtful message or a customized greeting for each recipient in this column.

8. Note (Optional): If you have any additional notes or instructions related to a particular gift card, you can include them in this column. Otherwise, leave it blank.

Formatting Guidelines

To ensure the CSV file is correctly formatted, please adhere to the following guideline. Otherwise, you might get an error and will not be able to import the CSV file successfully.

1. Use a plain text editor or spreadsheet software to create the CSV file.

2. Do not include any headers or titles in the first row of the CSV file. Begin entering data from the second row directly.

3. Ensure that there are no extra spaces, special characters, or formatting within the cells of the CSV file.

4. Save the CSV file in the appropriate format (.csv) before uploading it to our app.

Conclusion

By following this comprehensive guide, you can easily leverage our app's bulk gift card issuance feature using a CSV file. Remember to accurately input the data in each column, following the provided descriptions, and adhere to the formatting guidelines to ensure a successful gift card upload process. This efficient method will save you time and effort while allowing you to provide an enhanced gifting experience to your customers.
